Saskatchewan Party the Party of Hope

I was totally taken by surprise that Brad Wall would be the first Sask Party MLA to be officially nominated by the Saskatchewan Party. Who would have thought it? This is truly breaking news. I am sure he is very relieved. That has to be the biggest news story of the year.

I know the quote the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away will not be lost on him. The hope of a children’s hospital has been taken away. Will the thirteen long term care homes get the funding they were promised? Also there is the promised long term care home for Meadow Lake. There was promised economic development at Big River. All these projects up in the air. There is the promise of new funding for Municipalities. What about promised education property tax cut. And just where will the School Boards make up for shortfalls from lower education taxes?

If you buy a house on credit, does it make sense to pay down the debt each month in such away that your family can not be provided with the essentials. I high school kid taking a life skills budgeting class could figure this out. But that is what this government has done. When you budget on hope not common sense you get the predicament created by the Potash bust.

But there still is hope that we can have a domed stadium– a new home for the Riders. Great for Rider Ville but perhaps not so great for Saskatchewan. What would we do without hope?
