About Us

The Swift Current Southwest Booster continues a newspaper legacy in Swift Current which dates back over a century.
The first edition of the Booster was printed by Swift Litho-Printing Ltd. on May 8, 1969, and our free distribution paper has grown over the years to now boast a circulation of 13,700 across the Southwest.
Swift Litho-Printing, founded by Ron Corrins in 1957, was the first company in the province to purchase a computerized typesetter to enhance the printing process.
The Booster acquired the Swift Current Sun in January 1997, with the merging of the papers continuing a newspaper legacy dating back to 1904.
After numerous owners over the years, The Swift Current Southwest Booster was purchased by Roger Holmes and Star News Publishing Inc. in June 2016.
The Swift Current Southwest Booster is a free weekly local newspaper published every Thursday. The Booster covers local news, sports, agriculture news and other items important to Swift Current and surrounding area.
