The Swift Current Comp. Ardens volleyball team were unable to replicate their day one success as they lost their final four games on their way to a fourth place finish on home court on Saturday.

The Ardens gold medal hopes came to an end with a loss in three sets against the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones (25-23, 18-25, 15-12) in the semi-finals.

They trailed nearly the entire bronze medal match and eventually fell in straight sets to Cutknife (20-25, 13-25) to finish fourth among seven teams.

"The girls fought hard. They were extremely tired," explained coach Chelsea Carrick. "It is a mental game and they hit a wall and it wasn't something that they could come back from."

The Ardens had won all three matches in straight sets on Friday before finishing 3-3 on Saturday to conclude the round robin 9-3 in second place behind Clavet.

The Clavet Cougars went on to dispose of Central (26-24, 25-17) in the championship match.
