In the semi-finals the Ardens rolled past Eatonia (25-11, 25-6) before downing Rosetown (25-13, 25-14) in straight sets to capture the tournament title.
Ardens coaches Heather Striker and Brent Millar explained that the team worked to try and improve on a few things from their previous tournament in Regina last weekend.
"The ladies wanted to cut down on unforced errors and we did that. Our defensive coverage was something else we wanted to work on and the ladies did excel at that as well. Passing is an area that we will continue to work on through this week and next as we head into our home tourney following the Thanksgiving break."
"The ladies stayed focused throughout the weekend and avoided the inconsistency that we have had in the past tournaments," they continued. "The ladies played solid in all the matches they had this weekend. The offense was moved around very well making it difficult for teams to defend against us. We had contributions from everyone on the team as well."
Next action for the Senior Ardens will be next weekend where they will play host to a nine-team tournament. Teams participating include: Moose Jaw Central, Moose Jaw Riverview, Prince Albert St. Mary, Regina Thom, Estevan, Maple Creek, Cut Knife and Clavet.smah@swbooster.com
