“As coaches, we were very impressed with the team's performance at the Moose Jaw Invitational track meet. Despite only having twenty-three athletes and competing against twenty-five other teams, the team ranked fourth in overall points! We had many athletes consistently ranking in the top six for their events, earning the team points,” explained coaches Kara Braun, Chris Garner, and Chelsea Carrick.
“A significant portion of our points at this meet came from our young athletes. We have an excellent group of grade nine and ten athletes, which bodes well for the team in the upcoming years,” they pointed out.
The coaches also noted that they were very pleased to have eight athletes place in the top three in two or more events.
The Colts and Ardens will be in Weyburn for the Weyburn Invitational meet on Saturday. They will host the Rolling Hills Sectional on Wednesday, May 18 in Swift Current as the road to SHSAA provincials begins.
