Eighty-six students from grades 4-12 braved the elements last Wednesday to take part in the Chinook School Division cross-country championships in Hodgeville.
Although extremely cold and windy, the students showed great perseverance and performed well in the miserable weather.
The results were as follows:
Pee Wee girls (grades 4-6) 2 km
1st - Darby Fletcher, Frontier; 2nd - Kaitlyn Grimm, Hodgeville; 3rd - Ricki Banford, Eastend.
Pee Wee boys (grades 4-6) 2 km
1st - Lane Richardson, Eastend; 2nd - Rylan Laturnus, O.M. Irwin; 3rd - Riley Haubrich, Hodgeville.
Bantam girls (grades 7-8) 2 km
1st - Keely Chalk, O.M. Irwin; 2nd - Brooklyn Haubrich, Hodgeville; 3rd - Shaila Humphrey, Eastend.
Bantam boys (grades 7-8) 2 km
1st - Grady Lamontagne, O.M. Irwin; 2nd - Colton Adam, Hodgeville; 3rd - Jordan Bloom, O.M. Irwin.
Midget Girls (under 15) 3 km
1st - Ricki Doyle, Herbert; 2nd - Shania Sonen, Shaunavon; 3rd - Alex Galey, Shaunavon.
