Wildcats tangle with Sharks

The Sharks finished fifth in the regular season with a 10-15-2-1 record, 23 points behind the second place Wildcats.

The Sharks finished fifth in the regular season with a 10-15-2-1 record, 23 points behind the second place Wildcats.

In four meetings this season the Wildcats outscored the Sharks 18-4 on their way to four straight wins. In their most recent match-up the Wildcats downed the visiting Sharks 6-3 on Feb. 16th led by a pair of goals from both Kali Gillanders and Shelby Davey.

Friday the Wildcats will be at Battlefords Arena for game two at 8:15 p.m.

Game four will go Sunday at 2:15 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.

Last Wednesday the Wildcats clinched a series sweep of the Regina Rebels on home ice with a 5-1 win.

Tiara Schoenroth paced the Wildcats with three even-strength goals. Kirstie Redlick and Kali Gillanders each added powerplay markers for the Wildcats who went two for five on the man-advantage.

Kali Gillanders and Katelyn Ptolemy each added a pair of assists, while Kimberlee Day, Bailey Habscheid, and Redlick each added single helpers.

Michala Jeffries earned her second win of the post-season.

The Notre Dame Hounds are facing the Weyburn Wings in the other SFMAAAHL semi-final series.
