U14 United conquer RSA Youth Tournament

2013/14 U14 United Girls

The Swift Current Standard Motors Tune-A-Matic United Under-14 Girls won the RSA Youth Tournament with four straight wins at the tournament, which combined U12 Div 1 and U14 Div 2 teams.

Swift Current opened the tournament with a 3-2 win over Regina’s ACFC Tigres, led by two goals from Lauryn Hayes and a single from Cassie Barber.

They continued winning the following day with a 4-0 win over the Regina UCT Blue Heat on goals from Barber, Amanda Thoreson, Mikala Smuk, and Deserae Unger.

The U14 Girls added a third straight win in a 4-0 win over Regina’s QC United, led by two goals from Unger and singles from Thoreson and Kylie Carefoot.

The final game on Sunday was against the ACFC Tigres. United capped an unbeaten weekend with a 3-1 win with two goals off the foot of Barber, including one from the penalty spot, and a single from Carefoot.
