U12 United just miss medals

The Swift Current United under-12 girls indoor soccer team came close to a medal during a weekend performance at Winterfest in Regina over the weekend.

They opened the tournament with a 3-3 draw against the Regina UCT Blizzards, who would go on to defeat Yorkton 1-0 in the gold medal match. Amanda Thoreson, MJ Anderson, and Sara Cronan all scored in the draw.

They won their first game later that night with a 2-1 win over the Garden City Jets. Montana Adair and Jody Lynn Jacklin both scored in the win.

They rounded out the tournament with a 1-0 win over Saskatoon’s Aurora Angels.

Kennedy Froehlich scored the game-winning goal for Swift Current.
