The Swift Current United Soccer Club under-18 girls got the better of an old rival as they won four straight games to win gold at ACFC Summerfest in Regina.

Friday, they downed a shorthanded Regina Unidad squad 4-1 to open the tournament.

Saturday, they defeated the Humboldt Hurricanes 2-0 and then slipped past Prince Albert Celtic 1-0 on a late goal from Cassidy Andres.

Sunday’s championship final was a rematch with rival Prince Albert and the defensive battle was decided on a single play when striker Kaity Letwiniuk beat two Celtic defenders and found the back of the net in a 1-0 win.

Next up for the U18 girls will be Div II Provincials back in Regina on July 20-22.
