Ardens attack remains potent

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens made it five straight wins to open the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League regular season with a 10-3 win over AE Peacock on Thursday.

With only 13 players in the line-up, the Ardens only led 2-1 at the half, but responded with eight goals in the final 45 minutes.

The two-time defending league champions are now 5-0 and have out-scored their opponents 40-5 with three games remaining in the regular season.

Grade 12 Kaity Letwiniuk was in on half of the team’s goals as she scored two goals and added three assists.

Cassidy Andres, fresh off breaking the league’s all-time scoring mark on Tuesday, helped lead the offense with three goals.

Grade nine fullback Andrea Erlandson moved up to centre midfield and scored a pair of goals, while Emilie Erlandson scored a goal and added two assists.

Rookie Cassandra Furey-Cameron earned the win in goal.

Grade nine Leia Anderson added her first career goal and Jessica Driver volleyed in a rebound off the crossbar for her second of the season.

Daelin Bakken, Kelsey Therrien, and Furey-Cameron all added assists.

The Ardens will resume league play on Tuesday when they visit the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones.
