Ardens clinch top spot in MJHSSL

Ardens rookie midfielder Jessica Driver took on two Vanier Spirits.

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens will enter the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League playoffs as the top seed after clinching first place in the regular season for the sixth consecutive year.

The defending champion Ardens scored four unanswered goals in a 4-2 comeback win over the host Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits on Tuesday.

The win improved the Ardens to 5-0-1 and clinched a bye into next week's semi-finals.

The Ardens trailed 2-0 after 50 minutes but got two goals each from Cassidy Andres and Brittany Schafer over a 29-minute stretch.

Andres, a grade 10 striker/midfielder, increased her league leading scoring total to 21 goals over seven games.

The Ardens will round out their regular season on Thursday when they host the Moose Jaw AE Peacock Tornadoes at 4:15 p.m. at Irwin Field.
