Jr SunDogs open season with gold

The 15 and under girls Junior SunDogs volleyball team opened their club season with a gold medal performance at a tournament in Warman.

They placed first in the round robin with wins over Martensville Black (25-20, 25-21), Warman (25-13, 25-17), and Martensville Blue (25-6, 25-16) and a split with Wakaw (25-15, 11-25).

The 15U Junior SunDogs faced Warman in the semifinal and had no problems advancing to the final with a win in straight sets (25-15, 25-11).

They got their rematch with Wakaw in the championship match and fell behind with a 16-25 loss in the opening set. The SunDogs rebounded with a convincing 25-12 win to tie the match and then persevered in a 15-13 win to claim gold.
