The Shaunavon Shadows have earned the top ranking among 3A Boys basketball teams in Saskatchewan in the recently released rankings. The Shadows were ranked in top spot in the Top-10 rankings compiled by an independent group of volunteers from the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association.

The Shadows have displayed their talents in the SWAC league this season with five straights wins, outscoring their opponents 486-252. They are led by high scoring grade 12’s Matthew Benesh and Jesse Voll, who collectively average over 50 points per game in SWAC league play this season.

The Swift Current Comp. Colts are ranked fifth among 4A Boys teams behind Moose Jaw Central, Prince Albert St. Mary, Weyburn, and Warman. The Colts have jumped out of the gates this season with nine straights wins on their way to three tournament championships.

The Frontier Raiders are ranked seventh in 1A Boys. They are ranked behind St. Brieux, LCBI, Davidson, Ecole Canadienne Francaise, Middle Lake, and Lipton.

The lone girls team out of the Southwest to crack the rankings are the Shaunavon Silhouettes, who are ranked fifth in 2A Girls behind Wynyard, Meath Park, Foam Lake, and Birch Hills.

The first of three rankings are considered interest based only and will have no bearing on provincial playoff seeding.
