It was a relatively quite weekend in Canadian Cowboy’s Association rodeo action at the Gilbert Plains Rodeo in Manitoba.
The few Southwest cowboys that were east of the border did have some profitable results as they came up with four top-two finishes, including championship wins in Saddle Bronc and Tie Down Roping.
Swift Current’s Matt Switzer, now roping out of Yorkton, was a double money winner. He won Tie Down Roping in 10.3 seconds for $426. He also teamed up with Swift Current’s Blaine Switzer to place second in Team Roping in 7.1 seconds for $816.
Maple Creek’s Shelton Udal also won Saddle Bronc with a 75-point ride on ‘All Summer Long’ for $386.
Shaunavon’s Tanner Allemand was the fourth and final Southwest money winner with a second place finish in Bull Riding. He scored 78 points on ‘Casper’ to earn $398 for his efforts.
