Saskatchewan Games volleyball tryouts nearing

The Southwest’s boy’s volleyball entry for the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games will be holding tryouts next month.

Team South West (formerly Zone 3) will be holding tryouts for boys born after Jan. 1, 1997.

The first tryout camp will take place on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School.

The second camp will be Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw’s Central Collegiate.

There will be a $10 fee per player to cover the cost of tryouts.

The coaching staff will be comprised of head coach Darin Wohlgemuth, from the 2011 5A girls provincial champion LeBoldus Golden Suns. The former Swift Current resident will be joined by assistant coach Shaune Gray, from the two-time Moose Jaw city champion Central Cyclones.

The boy’s volleyball competition at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games will take place August 1-4 in Meadow Lake.
