Dinius nears another championship

Stewart Valley’s Dannielle Dinius is only one ride away from clinching a fourth straight title at the Canadian Cowboy’s Association Finals Rodeo.

Dinius leads all Ladies Barrel Racing competitors with 110 champion points after placing fourth on Friday evening in 14.07 seconds.

Stewart Valley’s Janet-Lynn Moen is in a three-way tie for second with 70 points. She was third on Friday in 13.97 seconds.

Swift Current’s Matt Switzer stormed back into title contention in Tie Down Roping with a first-place finish on Friday in 7.2 seconds. He now has 60 champion points and sits just 10 points behind Riley Warren.

Kyle’s Chad Hantleman tied for first in Steer Wrestling in only 4.2 seconds on Friday. He sits second with 90 champion points heading into the final day of competition.

Maple Creek’s Adam Gilchrist and Ross Kreutzer are tied for second in Saddle Bronc with 60 points apiece. Kreutzer tied for second on Friday with a score of 76, while Gilchrist was fourth with a 75.5-point ride.

The last CCA Finals performance will go tonight in Regina.
