Southwest teams playing for bronze at Hoopla

The Shaunavon Shadows and Frontier Raiders will both be playing for bronze medals at Hoopla in Moose Jaw.

The top ranked Shadows were upset 87-57 by fifth ranked Clavet in the 3A boys semi-final. The Shadows got off to a slow start trailing 20-10 after one quarter and 46-21 at the half as they were never able to recover.

Jesse Voll led the Shadows with 15 points, while Matthew Benesh added 14 in the loss.

The Shadows will face third seeded Moose Jaw Riverview in the bronze medal game on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The fourth seeded Frontier Raiders fell 58-40 to top ranked Central Butte in the 1A girls semi-final. Melissa Peacock led the Raiders with 10 points, while Karleen May paced the Bulldogs with 21 points.

The Raiders will face Lake Lenore in the bronze medal game at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
