The Shaunavon Shadows were the top ranked Southwest team in the recently released rankings of 1A-4A Saskatchewan high school basketball teams.

The Shadows were ranked second among all 3A boys teams behind Caronport in top spot.

The Herbert Laurels had both teams ranked in the top five with the girls ranked fourth among 1A teams behind Central Butte, Lake Lenore, and Middle Lake.

The Herbert boys were ranked fifth behind Regina Harvest City, Lake Lenore, Kinistino and Fillmore.

The Shaunavon Silhouettes were the fourth and final Southwest ranked squad in seventh spot among 3A girls teams. Clavet was the top ranked 3A team, followed by Lumsden and Outlook.

Neither Swift Current Comp. senior teams were ranked in the top 10 among 4A teams, although only teams that submitted their results were included in the rankings.

The first of two 1A-4A top 10 rankings was compiled by an independent group of Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association volunteers and are interest based only. The rankings have no bearing on the conference, regional, or provincial playoffs scheduled to begin in March.
