Saturday's first heat race would prove to be an eventful one as #3 Shane Grose got all spun around before colliding with #98 Daryl Kehler.
There was no movement atop the standings at the Speedy Creek Racing Association’s eighth race day of the season on Saturday as the top drivers did just enough to maintain their positions.
13 different cars and drivers took checkered flags in a busy evening filled with 15 races, including the final appearance of the IMCA Modifieds.
#66 Bob Heffer won the IMCA Modified feature race to wrap up top spot in the standings in Swift Current this season. Heffer won four heats and a feature in Swift Current in 2010 to finish with 274 points, 35 ahead of #69 Jason Lacelle in second spot.
#05 Corey Mohr won a pair of heat races, his second and third wins of the season, to finish fifth with 182 points.
Lacelle, #7 Earl Coward, #10 Dave Dease, and the #75 car also won IMCA Modified heat races.
#11 Tyson Crowe was a double winner in the Hobby Stock Division with a heat and a feature win. Crowe picked up 49 points on the day as he sits fifth with 200 points.
#7 Cam Weston took top spot in a Hobby Stock heat for his fifth win of the season as he continues to lead the Hobby Stock standings with 269 points.
#5 Stefan Klym and #8 Brody Crowe also picked up Hobby Stock heat wins.
Street Stock leader Barry Winter was unable to race on Saturday but found a more than adequate replacement in Trampus Lacelle, who raced the #90 car to a feature win and 47 points on the day. Winter’s #90 car has now won a SCRA-leading nine races after topping a feature for the first time this season. Winter leads the Street Stock standings with 297 points, 23 ahead of #98 Daryl Kehler. Kehler won a heat race on Saturday for his fifth win of the season and 274 points.
#33 Greg Schultz won his second heat of the season and sits sixth among Street Stock drivers with 190 points.
