Swift Current's Jordan Harper will be swimming at the Summer National Championships at Sannich Commonwealth Place in Victoria, BC this week.

Harper has been training very hard working toward his goal of making it to Nationals this year. He was able to make his National times in the 50 metre breast stroke. In the 50 metre short course he clocked a 29.32 second time. In the 50 metre long course he clocked a 30.55 second time.

While participating at the Man-Sask Championships in Winnipeg he just missed his 50 free National time, racing to a first place with a time of 23.72 seconds with the National time being 23.71. He hopes to make his National times in the freestyle and butterfly while participating in Victoria.

Harper swam with the ACT Summer Swim Club from grade two until going to Medicine Hat after graduation to continue swimming with the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club where he is coached by Peter Schori.

Harper and his coach have selected his events for Nationals where he will swim the

50 metre buttefly, 50 metre breaststroke, 50 metre freestyle, and the 100 metre breaststroke.

The event began Thursday and concludes Sunday.
