SCRA season continues with Larry Empey leading Mini Stock standings with 49 points

The Speedy Creek Racing Association will be heading back to the racetrack for their third race day after a break of over a month in their 10 race day season.

The cars and drivers of the SCRA will take the track on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in the Mini Stock, Hobby Stock, and Street Stock divisions.

#97 Larry Empey leads the Mini Stock standings with 49 points after he won a heat and the feature on race day number two back on June 13.

#19 James Johnson is second with 41 points and #26 Norman Larson is third with 40 points after winning the first heat of the season.

#7 Cam Weston holds a three-point lead in the Hobby Stock standings. Weston is coming off a pair of heat wins on June 13 and also won the first Hobby Stock heat of the season on May 15.

#5 Stefan Klym is tied for second with 81 points. He won a heat and a feature on race day number two to climb up from seventh in the standings. #44 Kevin Schafer also has 81 points after getting off to a great start at the Season Opener on May 15 with a feature win to lead all Hobby Stock drivers with 42 points early in the season.

#98 Daryl Kehler leads the Street Stock division with 93 points and holds a seven-point lead over #90 Barry Winter. Kehler has won both Street Stock feature races this season and added a heat win on June 13th as well.

Winter has taken a checkered flag during both previous race days as well with a pair of heat wins. #46 Jason Duclos sits third with 84 points and has one heat win so far this season in the opening Street Stock race of the season.

Racing gets underway on Saturday at 7 p.m. from the Speedy Creek Raceway at Kinetic Exhibition Park.

The Swift Current Drag Racing Association will also be holding their first event of the season on July 24 after their June 19 event was cancelled due to the weather.
