The Speedy Creek Racing Association finally got back on the track Sunday afternoon for their second race day of the season.
After a rain out on May 29 and the delay of Saturday's schedule event, which was postponed until Sunday due to the heavy precipitation during the week, 607 spectators took in the action at Kids Day, which featured racing in all four divisions.
12 different drivers came out on top of 16 separate races, including multiple race wins from four drivers in three of the four racing divisions.
Larry Empey opened the Mini Stock season with a pair of wins in the #97 car. Empey topped the second heat and the feature race to earn 49 points and sits atop the standings.
#26 Norm Larson won the other heat and sits third with 40 points.
In Hobby Stock action, a pair of drivers won multiple races. #7 Cam Weston and #5 Stefan Klym both picked up 48 points and sit first and second in the standings with 84 and 81 points respectively.
Klym won his first two races of the season, with one heat win in addition to the feature. Weston won his second and third heats of the season after winning his first race of the season on May 15. #7 Clay Nelson also picked up his first win of the season and sits fourth with 78 points.
#98 Daryl Kehler was the top driver in Street Stock action with a heat and feature win, his first wins of the season, for 48 points and top spot in the standings with 93 points.
#90 Barry Winter won a heat race for the season straight race day and picked up 45 points to sit second overall with 86 points.
Five different cars and drivers won the five IMCA Modified races. #66 Bob Heffer won the first heat, his third win of the young season, and now leads all cars with 143 points.
#9 Roger Bonneville topped the feature for his first win of 2010 as he sits in fifth with 100 points after a 58-point day.
#59 John Barber earned his first win of the season in a heat and earned 60 points on the day.
#66x Kelly Bauman also won his first race of the season with a heat win for 52 points on the day.
#10 Dave Dease made a solid debut with a heat win and 46 points.
The next SCRA race day, the third of 10 scheduled this summer, will take place on July 17 with regular race day action in Mini Stock, Hobby Stock, and Street Stock.
