The Speedy Creek Racing Association opened another season on Saturday evening with 532 fans taking in the Season Opener at the Speedy Creek Raceway at Kinetic Exhibition Park.

29 cars took part in Hobby Stock, Street Stock, and the IMCA Modified action with nine different drivers placing first in 11 races throughout the evening.

The Hobby Stock Division saw three different drivers take the checkered flags, leaving three cars within one point of top spot after one race day.

#44 Kevin Schafer won the feature race and leads all eight Hobby Stock cars with 42 points.

#8 Brody Crowe won heat 2 and sits one point back of first with 41 points, tied with #21 Scott Pain.

#7 Cam Weston won the opening heat and sits in fourth with 36 points.

The Street Stock Division also featured three different winners to leave four cars within five points atop the leaderboard.

#46 Jason Duclos won heat 1 and leads all Street Stock drivers with 46 points. #90 Barry Winter won heat 2 and sits fourth with 41 points. #98 Daryl Kehler captured the feature and sits second with 45 points.

14 IMCA Modifieds took to the track but only three cars were able to win races to create some separation in the standings. #66 Bob Heffer won heat 1A and 2A to lead all drivers with 76 points.

# 69 Jason Lacelle won heat 2B and the feature to sit one point back of Heffer with 75 points.

Wes Maley won heat 1B and sits fourth with 50 points, behind #27 Terry Vincente with 64 points.

The second of 10 race days will go Saturday May 29th at 7 p.m. with Mini, Hobby, and Street Stock cars all in action.
