Only one race day remains on the Speedy Creek Racing Association’s calendar after Saturday’s ninth race day of the season, which saw 12 different drivers come out on top of 15 races.
#98 Bradley Kehler was one of two double winners as he topped both Mini Stock heat races to earn 48 points to climb from seventh to fourth in the standings. Kehler also drove the #90 car to a win in the Street Stock mechanics race.
#96 Steve Lee topped the Mini Stock feature to widen his lead atop the standings. Lee entered the day with a nine-point lead over #97 Tyson Empy but earned 45 points to stretch his lead to 14 points heading into the final day of racing. It was Lee’s sixth win of the season and his second feature win.
In the Hobby Stock division #5 Corey Mohr was the only double winner as he topped a heat and the feature to earn 48 points and move into second in the Hobby Stock standings.
#0 Tanner Leverson, #2 Scott Payne, and #7 Cam Weston all topped heat races, while #5 Mike Acker came out on top of the mechanics race.
With only one race day remaining only one point separates front-runner #96 Dave Koethler and Mohr with 350 and 349 points respectively.
In Street Stock action five different racers won races including #0 Brad Leverson with a heat win as he leads the standings by 15 points over #46 Jason Duclos who also captured a heat win.
#41 Dave Wall, #67 Ron Dyck, and #98 Daryl Kehler all won heats as well.
The Season Ender is set for September 27th at 2 p.m. at the Speedy Creek Raceway with racing scheduled in Mini, Hobby, and Street Stock categories.
