Racing season hits midway point

All four divisions took to the Speedy Creek Raceway on Saturday during the Speedy Creek Racing Association's fifth race day of the season with 15 different drivers winning the evening's 20 races.

All four divisions took to the Speedy Creek Raceway on Saturday during the Speedy Creek Racing Association's fifth race day of the season with 15 different drivers winning the evening's 20 races.

In Mini Stock, #98 Bradley Kehler was the big winner topping all three of his races, including the feature, to earn 50 points and move into third in the standings with 98 points. #96 Steve Lee, with his fourth win of the season, and #31 Bree Schultz, with her first win, captured the other heat races as #97 Tyson Empy continues to lead all Mini Stock drivers with 132 points.

In Hobby Stock, #33 Greg Schultz came out on top of heat 1A as well as the feature to claim 46 points and now sits fourth with 184 points.

#22 Clay Nelson captured a heat win for the second race day in a row, #24 Murray Koethler took heat 2A, and #11 Tyson Crowe won his second heat of the season to round out the action.

In Street Stock action #41 Dave Wall was a double winner with heat and feature wins to gain 45 points to move into third in the standings with 186 points on the season.

#90 Barry Winter also won a pair of heats to pick up 46 points and sits seventh with 164 points.

#20 Colin Johnston won a single heat but dropped to fourth behind Wall with 185 points as #46 Jason Duclos continues to lead all Street Stock drivers with 200 points.

In IMCA Modified action five different cars won races capped by #45 Dave Dease in the feature. #66 Bob Heffer, #59 John Barber, #17 Arvid Fonstad, and #68 Kelly Bauman all emerged on top of their heats.

Overall #61 Wes Marley continues to lead the Modifieds with 200 points ahead of second-place #27 Terry Vincente with 182.

The next SCRA race day is set for August 8th at 7 p.m. with Mini's, Hobbies, and Streets all slated for action.
