One thousand and ninety-eight racing fans took in the Speedy Creek Racing Association's only event in the month of June on Saturday and saw action in all four racing categories including the second appearance of the season for the IMCA modifieds.

One thousand and ninety-eight racing fans took in the Speedy Creek Racing Association's only event in the month of June on Saturday and saw action in all four racing categories including the second appearance of the season for the IMCA modifieds.

In mini stock action #96 Steve Lee claimed heat 1 with his third checkered flag in two race days. From there #98 Bradley Kehler took over winning heat 2 and the feature race as he vaulted into fourth-place in the overall standings with 48 points. Rookie Tyson Empy leads all mini stock racers with 89 points.

In hobby stock #2 Earl Coward took heat 1A for his first win of the season, followed by #7 Cam Weston with his fourth win in heat 1B to keep him atop the standings with 121 points through three race days.

#11 Tyson Crowe grabbed his first win in heat 2B, followed by #5 Corey Mohr's second win of the campaign in heat 2B. In the feature #96 Dave Koethler took his first checkered flag as he moved into third in the standings with 119 points.

In the street stock division #67 Ron Dyck had a solid outing as he won his fourth and fifth races in heat 1A and the feature race. #90 Barry Winter, #76 Phil Zanger, and #46 Jason Duclos all captured heat races as Duclos continues to lead the standings with 120 points, seven ahead of #0 Brad Leverson in second spot.

The second appearance of the IMCA modifieds saw four cars pick up their first win at the Speedy Creek Raceway this season while #61 Wes Marley won his third heat in two race days to take over the lead in the standings with 142 points.

First time winners on the season were #69 Jason Lacelle, #22 Wes Stair, #59 John Barber, and #66 Bob Heffer in the feature.

The fourth of 10 SCRA race days will take place on July 4th with the 2009 Prairie Dirt Classic including a special visit from the ASCS CanWest 360 Sprints as well as regular racing from the hobbies and streets.

Regular race day tickets will not be valid at this event with adult admission set at $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.

Students will cost $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.
