The Swift Current K-Motel AA Midget Hurricanes opened the regular season with a pair of road wins over the Pipestone Jets and Melville.

The Swift Current K-Motel AA Midget Hurricanes opened the regular season with a pair of road wins over the Pipestone Jets and Melville.

Saturday the Hurricanes downed the Jets 3-1 on goals from Riley Dowdeswell, Kendall Hall, and Bryce Moberg. Tanner Lange, Baydin Pastuck, Reiley Grose, Nick Mckay, and Chad Schultz each added assists.

Sunday the Hurricanes scored three goals in the third period for a 4-2 win over Melville.

Lange led the way with a goal and one assist, followed by single goals form Brandan Pratt, Moberg, and Hall. Dowdeswell and Pastuk added helpers.

The Hurricanes will now bunker in for 11 straight home games beginning Saturday when the Regina Flames visit Fairview West Arena at 5:15 p.m.

Sunday the Hurricanes will host Melville at 1 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex.

October 14th the 'Canes will host Caronport at 8 p.m. at the iplex.
