The Swift Current Diamond Energy AAA Midget Wildcats won game one of their best-of-five second round playoff series against the visiting Battlefords Sharks on Wednesday.

The Swift Current Diamond Energy AAA Midget Wildcats won game one of their best-of-five second round playoff series against the visiting Battlefords Sharks on Wednesday.

The Wildcats outshot the Sharks by period margins of 16-9, 9-4, and 16-8 on their way to a convincing 4-0 win.

Shelby Davey and Shelby Nisbet led the attack with a goal and one assist each.

Kali Gillanders and Katelyn Ptolemy each scored once, while Tiara Schoenroth added a pair of helpers.

Brittney Erlandson picked up a single assist.

Michala Jeffries helped kill off four Sharks' powerplays and made 18 saves to earn her third post-season victory.

Game two is scheduled for Friday night in North Battleford.

Sunday the Wildcats will host the Sharks for game three at 2:25 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
