The Swift Current Broncos' annual Black and White Game will benefit another good cause this year.
The annual Black and White Game gives coaches a chance to see players from training camp in a competitive game situation. The intra-squad game will take place on August 24 at 1 p.m.
Admission will be $5 and proceeds will be donated to the new Swift Current Youth Emergency Shelter.
“Each year we donate the gate admission from the black and white game to a local charity. The Swift Current Youth Emergency Shelter is a relatively new group that we are excited to support. We hope to help raise awareness for what they do,” commented Dianne Sletten, Director of Business Operations for the Broncos.
The Swift Current Emergency Youth Shelter is a six-bed coed facility for youth aged 14-18 in need of housing.
“We’re really appreciative of the community support we have received and are happy the area has recognized the need for a youth shelter,” said Betty McDougall, development coordinator for the Swift Current Youth Emergency Shelter.
