The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires are down to their fnal three games of the SMAAAHL after being swept by the Saskatoon Blazers

The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires were unable to come up with a win during a weekend home stand against the visiting Saskatoon Blazers.
The Blazers opened the weekend with a 7-4 win on Saturday. Saskatoon led by 2-0 and 5-1 period margins before the Legionnaires won the third period 3-2.
Chaseton Sare scored shorthanded for Swift Current, while Dawson Tangen scored on the powerplay and Morgan Greve and Tanner Brewster added even-strength goals.
Bryce Hall and Carter Doerksen both picked up two assists, while Reid Fritzke, Greve, Kolby Johnson, and Tristan Hermanson added single helpers.
Shane Blomquist took the loss with 29 saves on 36 shots. Kyle Zinger stopped all four shots he faced in a brief relief appearance.
Tyler Pickett and David Sheppard both had two goals and two assists for the Blazers in the win.
The Legionnaires lost 6-3 on Sunday when the Blazers finished three-for-six on the powerplay. The Blazers scored the first four goals to put the game away before the two teams combined for four goals over the final 9:37.
Johnson and Greve both scored powerplay goals as the Legionnaires finished two-for-10 with the man-advantage. Sare, Greve, Evan Armstrong, and Fritzke all picked up assists in the loss. Kyle Zinger took the loss with 38 saves on 44 shots.
Pickett led the Blazers for a second straight game with another four-point outing and Shane Sherban added a goal and an assist, while Brett Pongracz made 31 saves in the win.
The Legionnaires finished the weekend with an 8-30-2-1 record. The Blazers improved to 11-23-5-2 as they sat four points back of Yorkton for the eighth and final playoff spot with three games remaining in their season.
The Legionnaires will be back on home ice Tuesday against the Notre Dame Argos at 8 p.m. at the Credit Union ilex in their third last game of the season.
