The Swift Current Broncos allowed four goals in the second period in a Valentines Day loss Friday at the hands of the Medicine Hat Tigers

The Swift Current Broncos were unable to deliver a win on Valentines Day as they fell 7-3 to the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers. The Tigers did an outstanding job of getting traffic to the net as they scored seven goals on 40 shots to improve to 35-20-3-0.
Curtis Valk led the Tigers with two goals and an assist, while Cole Sanford added a goal and two assists as the Tigers' top line got the better of the Broncos checking unit. Miles Koules, Blake Penner, and Jacob Doty also scored for the Tigers, who broke the game open with a four-goal second period.
The Broncos got power play goals from Nathan Burns and Julius Honka and an even-strength goal from rookie Jake DeBrusk. DeBrusk scored his 10th of the season late in the first period to tie the game 1-1 and Burns scored 23 seconds into the second period before Medicine Hat scored the next five goals to seal the win.
Eetu Laurikainen took the loss with 21 saves on 25 shots over 31:24 before giving way to Landon Bow, who made 12 saves on 14 shots. Marek Langhamer earned the win with 30 saves.
The Broncos dropped to 28-22-2-6 as their two-game winning streak came to an end.
The Broncos will be on the road Saturday to visit the Regina Pats in an important East Division game. They will have Sunday off before hosting the Prince Albert Raiders on Monday for a special Family Day Matinee game at 2 p.m.
