Raiders lose another close one

The Swift Current Kabos Raiders played their second last game of the regular season Thursday. The host Moose Jaw Warriors scored in the final five minutes to earn a 5-4 win over the visiting Raiders. Ahmed Ally scored his second goal of the game with 4:27 left in regulation to improve the Warriors to 11-17-2 on the season.

The Raiders had led 2-1 after one period and trailed 4-2 after two periods before scoring twice in the final frame to tie the contest. Tyde Hutchinson scored twice and added an assist. Hunter Lamb had two assists in the loss, while Caleb Stevenson and Aaron Wittmier added single helpers. Defensemen Logan Fritzke and Jesse Wellsch both scored in the third period to tie the game.

The Raiders, who fell to 3-26-1 in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League, will conclude the regular season on February 15 when they host the Humboldt Broncos at 5:15 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
