The Swift Current K Motel Hurricanes advanced to the second round of the provincial playoffs with a 5-2 win over the visiting Regina Wild Friday. The two teams had tied game one 1-1 last week in Regina in the opener of the two-game, total goals series.

Austin LaRochelle, Dominic Vallee, Jordan Wittman, Connor Kennedy, and Colton Adam all scored, while Logan Tisdale earned the win in goal.

The Hurricanes will be right back on home ice for two South Sask Midget AA Hockey League games this weekend. They currently lead the 13-team league with a 17-5-3 record and are riding a seven-game winning streak.

The Hurricanes will host the Regina Flames (12-8-4) Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.

They will also face the Prairie Storm (5-18-1) on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex.
