The Kyle Elks remained unbeaten with another shutout win
The Kyle Elks picked up a shutout win in their only weekend game to remain unbeaten in the Sask Valley Hockey League.
The Elks remained unbeaten Saturday with an 8-0 win over the host Kenaston Blizzard. Dieter Gillanders and Danny Williams led the way with two goals each and Jamie Langen earned the shutout with 20 saves.
Blake Evans, Joel Rogers, Colby Schneider, and Thomas Williams all added a goal and an assist. Jeff Marshall, Robbie Retzleff, and Nelson Schneider each had two-assist outings.
Cory Hodgins, Dalton Schneider, and Justin Williams also added assists.
The Elks were slated to host the Central Butte Flyers on Sunday but the game was postponed due to poor travel conditions.
The Elks finished the weekend tied for top spot in the Sask Valley Hockey League with the Rosetown Redwings with a 6-0 record. The two teams won’t have their first meeting until January 10 when the Redwings will visit the Kyle Sports Center.
The Elks will play a single game this weekend when they host the outlook Ice Hawks (1-3-0-0) on Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Kyle Sports Center.
