The Calgary Hitmen continued to have the Swift Current Broncos number as they won their third game in as many attempts Friday with a 3-1 win.
The two teams were tied 1-1 heading into the third period before Calgary got goals 1:01 apart from Brady Brassart and Jake Virtanen to close out the game.
Colby Harmsworth had scored 4:47 into regulation to open the scoring for Calgary. Rookie Glenn Gawdin scored Swift Current's only goal with 1:50 left in the opening period when he converted a Colby Cave wraparound attempt for his third goal of the season.
Swift Current dropped to 16-11-0-3 with only their second regulation loss at home in 14 games. Calgary improved to 14-7-1-3 on the season.
Eetu Laurikainen made 40 saves in the loss to drop to 9-9-0-2. Chris Driedger stopped 37 of 38 shots to improve to 8-6-1-3 for the Hitmen.
The Broncos will be back at home again Saturday when they host the Red Deer Rebels (12-12-0-2).
