The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes got their first taste of defeat Wednesday.
The Hurricanes outshot the visiting Regina Capitals 37-17 but fell 3-2 in their first lost in nine South Sask Midget AA Hockey League games this season.
Regina improved to 4-3-1 on the season, while Swift Current remains atop the league with a 7-1-1 record.
The Hurricanes will be at home for two games this weekend as they look to return to the win column. They will face the Yorkton Terriers on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
The Hurricanes have declared Sunday as "K-Motel Hurricanes KidSport Day" for their game against the Melville Millionaires.
All gate admission proceeds collected at the game will be donated to the local chapter of “KidSport”. Also, any fans who bring used sports equipment to donate, will get free admission to the game.
"Our goal on November 3rd is to pack Fairview West Arena with as many Hurricane supporters as possible, but more importantly to help “Kidsport” achieve their goal. The Hurricanes want to ensure that all kids have the opportunity to play sports," said the Hurricanes in a media release.
Sunday's game against Melville will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Fairview Arena.
