The Swift Current Kabos Bantam Raiders dropped two more games over the Thanksgiving weekend to fall to 0-5
The Swift Current Kabos Bantam Raiders’ struggles in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League continued this weekend with two road losses.
Friday, the weekend got off to a rough start with a 9-0 loss to the host Prairie Storm. The Prairie Storm connected for goals on all five of their powerplay opportunities and Swift Current finished without a goal on three man-advantages as they could not beat goaltender Jordan Schmuland. Tyson Manz led the Storm with three goals and an assist among eight multiple point performances.
Saturday, the Raiders lost the battle with the Regina Pat Blues in a 6-3 loss. The Raiders opened the scoring and twice tied the game before allowing three unanswered goals over the final 26:35.
Braden Levac, Caleb Stevenson, and Tyde Hutchinson all scored for the Raiders with assists from Logan Fritzke, Jonas Sadden, and Nathan Wik. Jeremy Brumwell suffered the loss in goal.
The weekend dropped the Raiders to 0-5 to open the season. Their busy month of October continues next weekend with three games in four days.
The Raiders will head back to Regina Thursday to visit the Regina Foxes (2-2-0) at the Cooperators Center.
The Raiders will also host a pair of North Division teams next weekend. The Saskatoon Generals (1-2-0) will visit Fairview West Arena on Saturday at 5:45 p.m. The Raiders will host the Saskatoon Bandits (2-2-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Fairview West as well.
