The Swift Current Broncos and Medicine Hat Tigers combined for four powerplay goals in a 3-1 Medicine Hat win
The Swift Current Broncos suffered their first regulation loss with a 3-1 loss to the host Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday.
All four goals were scored on the powerplay as the Tigers put the game away with three second-period goals. Boston Leier scored twice and Cole Sanford added an insurance marker as the Tigers improved to 3-1.
Graham Black replied with a goal in the third period for Swift Current, his third in as many games this season.
Eetu Laurikainen suffered the loss with 34 saves on 37 shots for the Broncos. Daniel Wapple made 34 saves on 35 shots in the win for Medicine Hat.
The Broncos (2-1-0-1) will host the Saskatoon Blades (0-3-0-0) on Wednesday to open a four-game homestand.
