The Swift Current Broncos released overage forward Daniel Dale in a roster move before the start of the 2013-2014 Western Hockey League regular season start.
The Swift Current Broncos parted ways with 20-year-old forward Daniel Dale to clear up their overage situation.
Just one day before their season opener, the Broncos released Dale, who counted three goals and 10 points along with 192 penalty minutes in 135 contests during two seasons in Swift Current.
“It was a really tough conversation to have,” Broncos General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb stated in a press release. “He was a big part of this organization, but as a 20-year-old, it comes down to a numbers game and we knew we had to make a decision. We want to thank Daniel for his efforts and dedication to the Broncos organization over the last two years. He was excellent in the dressing room and was a big part of the identity of the club over the last few years. We wish him nothing but the best going forward.”
The three overage players remaining on the Broncos roster are forwards Graham Black and newly acquired Connor Sanvido, plus veteran goaltender Eetu Laurikainen.
