The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes have their backs up against the wall in the South Sask Midget AA Hockey League playoffs.

The Hurricanes lost game one of the best-of-three semi-final series 9-3 to the Notre Dame AAA Bantam Hounds Tuesday in Wilcox.

The seventh seeded Hurricanes will now need two straight wins over the top seeded Bantam Hounds to keep their league championship title defense alive.

Game two will be played Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex in Swift Current. Game three, if necessary, would be played Sunday afternoon back in Wilcox.

The fourth seeded Moose Jaw Warriors are taking on the sixth seeded Estevan Bruins in the other semi-final series beginning Thursday in Moose Jaw.
