The Swift Current Kabos Raiders made quick work of their opening round Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League playoff series. The second seeded Raiders swept out the seventh ranked Melville Millionaires with a pair of weekend wins. Shaunavon’s Kole Lind was a one man wrecking crew with eight goals to double the offensive output of the Millionaires on his own.

The Raiders opened the series in convincing fashion with an 8-2 win at home Saturday led by five goals from Lind. Lind scored five of the first six goals as the Raiders led start to finish to open the playoffs.

Caleb Stevenson, Cody Spagrud, and Tyde Hutchinson each added a goal and an assist. Tanner Nagel picked up three assists, Tristan Carey and Rhett Carlson each added a pair of helpers, and Dylan Rossiter was the only Raider with a single point with an assist. Jackson Granrude earned the win in goal.

Sunday, Lind scored three more goals and Tristan Carey added a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win in Melville to close out the best-of-three series. Nagel, Devon Schultz, and Carter Tangen all added assists. Granrude earned the win in goal for a second straight game.

“I think it definitely was a complete effort for 120 minutes,” said Raiders head coach Kent Woods. “We played very good hockey. It was good for us to get the win and move on to the second round.”

The Raiders will now wait to find out who they will face in the South Division best-of-three semi-final series.
