The Swift Current Broncos and Prince Albert Raiders stayed right on script as the host team won Wednesday’s game in Prince Albert for the seventh straight time this season.

Playing their fifth game in six days, the Broncos lost 3-1 to drop one spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 27-25-3-3 record, one point back of the sixth-place Medicine Hat Tigers, who won 3-0 in Brandon.

Prince Albert got two goals from Leon Draisaitl and a single from Jonas Knutsen as they took back the East Division lead from the Saskatoon Blades with a 32-21-2-3 record.

Eetu Laurikainen made 26 saves to drop to 21-19-2-3, while Luke Siemens picked up his 30th win of the season with 25 saves in the Raiders’ goal.

Colby Cave scored the lone goal for the visitors when he tied the game 1-1 5:50 into the middle stanza, his 16th of the campaign.

The Broncos are now 3-3-0-1 against the Raiders with all three wins at home. The two teams will wrap up the season series March 5 in Swift Current.

The Broncos will have Thursday off before traveling to Regina (20-31-3-3) on Friday to face the Pats for their sixth game in eight days. The Broncos have secured nine of 10 points against the Pats, although all five games have been decided by one goal, including three overtime contests.
