Brooklyn Haubrich scored both Swift Current goals as the Wildcats skated to a 2-1 win over the visiting Notre Dame Hounds in Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Haubrich counted her sixth and team leading seventh goals of the season, scoring the game winning marker with 8:57 left in regulation.

Keely Chalk chipped in with two assists, with single helpers from Tori Kendall and Gabrielle Gray.

Notre Dame's lone goal came off the stick of Robin Nimegeers with 15 seconds left in the opening period.

Swift Current's Brooklyn Weisgerber kicked out 24 of 25 shots to post her third goaltending win of the season. She now boasts a 3-6-0 record, with a 2.53 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.

The Wildcats had a pair of strong special teams efforts in the final period when they killed off their only two penalties of the game. Swift Current failed to score on their only powerplay of the contest.

Swift Current improved their record to 7-15-0-0 as they posted only their second back-to-back wins of the season after enduring an eight game league losing skid. The Wildcats are now a single point behind sixth place Notre Dame (7-9-0-1). Swift Current has a pair of weekend road contests against third place Weyburn including a Saturday afternoon contest in Assiniboia, host community for the sixth annual SaskEnergy Hockey Day in Saskatchewan celebrations.
