The Swift Current Broncos came up with a dominating performance on Kurt’s KFC Teddy Bear Toss Night in a 4-0 win over the visiting Kootenay Ice.
Adam Lowry continued his torrid scoring streak with his third hat trick of the season after Graham Black had opened the scoring.
Rookie goaltender Landon Bow returned from injury and made 20 saves for his first Western Hockey League win and shutout.
Mackenzie Skapski was a lone bright spot for the listless Ice with 50 saves in the loss.
The Broncos, who were playing their first home game in 15 days, improved to 15-17-3-2.
Kootenay, playing their third game in as many nights, dropped to 10-22-1-o and remain last in the Eastern Conference.
After a scoreless first period, Black launched a barrage of stuffed animals, toques, and mitts when he scored just 59 seconds into the second period.
Lowry took over from there, scoring the next three goals to move his season total to a career-high 21 goals. The Broncos captain has now scored in six straight games and his WHL leading 11-game point streak included 11 goals and seven assists.
The Broncos will play their final game before the holiday break on Tuesday when they host the red-hot Saskatoon Blades (19-14-0-1).
