The Swift Current Broncos offensive woes continued on Tuesday night when they were blanked 4-0 by the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Hurricanes netminder Ty Rimmer turned aside 37-shots to earn the shutout, including a strong 11-save performance in the final period when Swift Current held an 11-3 edge in shots.

The Broncos have managed only five goals over their past five games, but Tuesday's loss was the first time this season Swift Current has been shutout.

Rimmer improved to 6-6-1-0 as he earned his first shutout with Lethbridge, giving the overage netminder 10 career shutouts after previously blanking the opposition as a member of the Prince George Cougars and the Tri-City Americans.

Hurricanes leading scorer Russell Maxwell picked up his ninth goal of the season and now leads Lethbridge with 14 points. Sam McKechnie counted his seventh of the year. Spencer Galbraith counted his second of the season on the powerplay in helping Lethbridge go one for the with the man advantage. Jamal Watson added his second of the year. Jay Merkley chipped in with two assists.

Broncos import goaltender Eetu Laurikainen fell to 5-5-2-1 after yielding four goals on 26 shots.

The win improves Lethbridge's record to the .500 mark at 6-6-1-0 while stretching their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1-0). Swift Current falls below the .500 mark at 5-6-3-1 after dropping their third straight.
