They made a few mistakes along the way, but the Swift Current Kabos Bantam Raiders opened their second season in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League with a dramatic 8-6 win over the visiting Yorkton Terriers on Sunday.
Tristan Carey scored the game winning goal with 2:10 left when he tapped home a rebound to put the Raiders ahead for good. Jarret Gerlach added an empty net goal in the final minute to close the scoring.
Josh Sundquist picked up the win in goal as the Raiders outshot the Terriers 49-31.
The Raiders will be back at home this weekend when they host the West Central Wheat Kings on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. Fairview West Arena. They will also host the Regina Pat Blues on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Credit Union iplex.
