Broncos impress in home opener

Adam Lowry’s hat trick lifted the Swift Current Broncos to a 7-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in their home opener Saturday.

The Broncos’ captain scored shorthanded, on the powerplay, and at even-strength as the Broncos earned three of four points in their season opening series against Moose Jaw after losing 4-3 in overtime Friday.

Colby Cave, Ryon Moser, Coda Gordon, and Josh Derko also scored for the Broncos.

Morgan Rielly scored the lone goal for Moose Jaw.

Import rookie Eetu Laurikainen made a strong home debut to earn the win in the Broncos goal.

Next up for the Broncos will be a visit from the Regina Pats on Wednesday.
