The Swift Current Broncos have added another local product to their roster as they acquired Gull Lake's Justin Spagrud after dealing the rights to former first round pick Evan Richardson to the Victoria Royals. The Broncos also recieved a conditional second round draft pick in the deal.

Spagrud, 17, played with the Swift Curent Legionnaires in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League the past two seasons. He was originally drafted by the Tri-City Americans before being traded to Victoria last summer.

The 6'0'', 170-lb left wing had one assist and two penalty minutes in two preseason games with the Royals this season.

Richardson, 18, was the Broncos top pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, selected 15th overall, but never joined the Broncos, instead playing in the BCHL and commiting to Boston College.

The Nanaimo native posted 55 points in 48 games to finish second in team scoring for the Powell River Kings last season.
