Iconic Canadian rockers Trooper will headline a post-game party on Sept. 22 following the Swift Current Broncos first home game of the 2012-2013 Western Hockey League season.

After the Broncos clash with the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors, Trooper will take to the stage in the Home Hardware “We’re Here For a Good Time” post-game party. Gull Lake-based Dirty Aces will be the opening act for the concert which will be hosted in the curling rink.

Trooper ruled the airwaves in the 70s and 80s after debuting on the charts in 1975. They continue to play for appreciative audiences from coast-to-coast, and they are currently on a summer tour which has included a performance at the Queen City Ex, in addition to upcoming shows at the Edmonton Rock Music Festival, the CNE in Toronto, and the PNE in Vancouver.

The multiple Juno Award winning group boasts one gold album, two platinum albums, a pair of double platinum recording, and Trooper's Hot Shots greatest hits recording became the first Canadian album to reach the then unprecedented six platinum album club.

'We're Here for a Good Time' was a hit on their third album, "Knock 'Em Dead Kid", released in  1977.

Trooper released songs which are truly a soundtrack of 80s music including Two For The Show, Santa Maria, Pretty Lady, Raise A Little Hell, The Boys in the Bright White Sportscar, and Three Dressed Up As a Nine.

Lead singer Ra McGuire and lead guitarist Brian Smith, the two founding members of Trooper, remain with the group.

The concert is presented by the Broncos, in partnership with SCB Event Management.

Action at the home opener begins at 4 p.m. with a warm-up party, sponsored by Home Hardware and the Eagle 94.1, in the Credit Union iPlex parking lot.

Advance tickets for the post-game party are available at a cost of $25 to 2012-13 season ticket holders from today until Aug. 17. Any remaining tickets go on sale to the general public on Aug. 20 at 9 a.m.
